1.In order to encourage students to achieve a basic standard of English proficiency before graduating, the following departments have established a graduation requirement for English:

The Department of Pharmacy

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry

The Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Applied Life Science and Health

The Department of Applied Foreign Languages

The Department of Occupational Safety and Health

The Department of Hospital and Healthcare Administration

The Department of Information Management
-
The Department of Applied Geoinformatics
-
The Department of Information Technology
-
The Department of Recreation and Healthcare Management
-
The Department of Tourism Management
-
The Department of Hotel and Restaurant Management
2.Students can satisfy the graduation requirement by presenting evidence that they have achieved the scores indicated in any of the following recognized proficiency tests*:

TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) 390 or above
-
TOEFL computer-based test (CBT) 90 or above
-
TOEFL internet-based test (iBT) 29 or above.
-
GEPT elementary level (including parts 1 and 2)
-
IELTS 3.0 or above
-
New TOEIC 225 or above (including a minimum of 110 for listening and 115 for reading).

CSEPT (post November 2009) Level 1 130 or above, Level 2 120 or above.
-
Chia Nan University Test of Basic English Proficiency 60 or above.
*Different standards apply to students of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages
